Ecological and economical

Ecology & Economy

Sûti is an eco-friendly and cost-effective stove, which is part of a continuous improvement in the energy performance of pellets and wood heaters.

We are convinced that selling our products helps protect our planet and your wallet. This is why we chose this profession; for this economic and responsible approach. It contributes to a new international policy of raising awareness of global warming.

Thanks to the triple combustion and fine particulates filter, the combustion of the Sûti pellet stoves is optimal!

Why use wood pellets?

The advantage of using wood for heating is that it is an environmentally friendly fuel.

When we burn wood pellets, this fuel emits CO2 in the same way as gas or fuel oil. The advantage with pellets is that the carbon dioxide emissions are offset by the carbon captured by the trees that grow during their photosynthesis. This specificity makes wood a low-emission energy compared to CO2.

5 reasons to heat with wood pellets

💸 Reduce your energy expenses: The price of pellets is stable and lower than other fuels. It is also independent of the price of oil and not impacted by the carbon tax.

🌍 Take action on air quality: Pellets releases few greenhouse gases and very little dust. It thus guarantees better air quality. With its particles filter, Sûti helps limit fine particles in the atmosphere!

👍 Enjoy high performance: High-tech devices and the use of quality pellet ensure high performance. Efficiency of 94.6% for the SÛTI stoves!

💚 Benefit from a natural source of heat and comfort of life thanks to the automatic and autonomous system of the pellet stove.

🚩 Consume local and renewable energy, which allows energy independence, local service and short circuits! In Belgium, there are 10 wood pellet factories and in France, no less than 50!

What savings thanks to the pellets?

Taking into account that today, fuel oil costs 1,39 € per liter and a ton of pellets in bags costs 6 € per bag of 15 kg.

In order to energetically equal 1 liter of fuel oil (10 kW), we need 2 kg of pellets (10 kW). Thus, for the same energy input, the pellet costs 0.80€ and fuel oil costs 1.39 €. As a result, pellet is 40% cheaper than fuel oil!

The prices mentioned above are the prices on 26/08/2022 for Belgium. Consequently, they are likely to evolve according to the rules of the market.

Pellet is made from sawmill by-products (chips and sawdust from the first processing).

In Europe, we have a lot of wood waste and nowadays we only recycle a tiny part of it. Thus, as long as there is sun, there will be vegetation and therefore wood waste to be recovered. Moreover, in Belgium, the law obliges us to replant every tree that is cut down.

The manufacture of pellets does not require any specific tree cutting. As a result, we can enhance the related products and transform them into pellets.

Sûti Design & Utility - Bilan carbone

If, for a fuel, the manufacturing and transport processes are taken into account, the impact of pellet comparedto fossil fuels is very low.

Therefore, using pellets as fuel for our heating needs reduces the consumption of fossil fuels, which are known to be environmentally harmful.

Sûti poêle à pellet écologique

Instead of using oil for heating, let’s only preserve its use when it is  an irreplaceable raw material in industry.

The Sûti pellet stove comes with a thermostat. When the desired temperature is reached, the stove automatically decreases its consumption. Indeed, the endless screw will turn more or less quickly as needed, bringing the necessary quantity of pellets into the combustion chamber.

A pellet stove has an efficiency of +/-87% (a wood stove represents an efficiency of 65%), so almost all the heat is returned to the room. Our Sûti pellet stoves have an average efficiency of 94.6%.

Consider this price index chart, showing that the price of pellet is particularly stable compared to other energies.

As you know, the pellet is a local and renewable energy, which protects it relatively from strong fluctuations, because its price is independent of that of oil. It is therefore protected from the instability of the major world fossil resource markets.

In addition, pellet heating is not impacted by the carbon tax (Climate Energy Contribution) , which aims to discourage consumers from choosing “polluting” energy.

WOOD, A MODERN AND CLEAN ENERGY

Every year, episodes of winter pollution bring particulate emissions back to the forefront. Among the many sources of emissions, wood fuel is systematically singled out. However, technological advances have made considerable progress and wood is now a clean and environmentally friendly solution.

Today,  82% of wood-heating particles are emitted by open hearths and old appliances. The rapid renewal of the entire fleet is the key issue in improving air quality.
This is the reason why important decisions have been taken at the political level.

Equipment Performance

The R&D work carried out ver the last several years by manufacturers in the wood heating appliances sector, supported by ADEME, has made it possible to bring efficient equipment to the market, from an energy and environmental point of view. Indeed, these devices offer high efficiency and optimized combustion which reduce fine particulates emissions.

qualité de l'air - diminution des émissions de particules

Heating with wood pellets has a real role to play. Indeed, one of the keys to the results of the Ineris study (2019) shows that the moisture content of the pellet, the combustion and the automatic supply of pellet appliances (stove and boiler) allow for optimized combustion and therefore very low emissions of particles.

qualité de l'air - émissions de particules selon le type d'appareil

As the graph shows, particulate emissions have been cut by 2 in 8 years thanks to the replacement of open hearths and old appliances. Therefore, the rapid renewal of the entire fleet is the key issue in improving air quality.
